Lake Powell, Utah
When I was planning my roadtrip down to Page to shoot Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon, I didn’t really know what was in the area. I had a few nights and Antelope Canyon was a daytime venture so I had some golden hour plans I had to figure out. I simply Googled “Lake Powell Page Arizona” and as soon as I saw an image of Alstrom Point, I knew I had to get there. In researching, I found out that it’s a real pain in the ass because even though you can pretty much see the point from Page, it’s still a two-hour drive away down secluded dirt roads with the last section being some legit rough off-roading. But on the bright side, there were dispersed campsites along the rim!
Earlier this year, I declared that the Knowles Canyon Overlook in Rabbit Valley was possibly my favorite place I’ve spent the night. I totally recant that statement now. Alstrom Point is my favorite place I’ve spent the night…
