Sunrise at the Dallas Divide
It seems that every photographer seems to have a picture of the Sneffels Range shot from the Dallas Divide, primarily during the fall and after a storm. It’s be done time and time again. So even though it wasn’t going to be creative or original, it was still something I wanted to shoot and capture. After arriving in to Amphitheater Campground in Ouray late Friday night, we got up at 6 a.m. to drove up to the divide, about 30 minutes away. After racing around in the car in a feeble attempt to find an scene to shoot, I settled for an overlook with at least fifty other people.
When I get up for sunrise, the weather tends to be too good so in continuing with my poor luck trend, there wasn’t a cloud to be seen. Luckily the fall colors were really popping and the early morning light was still amazing…
