Saint Kitts & Nevis, West Indies
I’ve been lucky enough to have seen some of the world’s more famous and arguably beautiful waterfalls (Niagara Falls (NY), Yosemite Falls (CA), Lower Yellowstone Falls (WY), Kuang Si Falls (Laos), to name a few), but I’ve also been suckered into seeing some super lame waterfalls by ‘trekking’ into jungles at the advice of locals (Montezuma (Costa Rica), San Ramon (Nicaragua), Chiang Dao (Thailand), to name a few more).
While staying at the Four Seasons Nevis for a week, we didn’t want to spend the entire time sipping cocktails pool-side (or beach-side) so we let the concierge talk us in to a trek to the Nevis Waterfall. Thinking back to those super lame waterfalls, I remember specifically asking, “Is it actually a waterfall? It’s not just a trickle is it?”
“Noooo, it’s very nice.” I was told. I even gathered a second and third local opinion on the matter after we booked the tour for the following day.
You would think I would have learned my lesson by now. It was nice to get off the resort for bit, but it was totally a trickle….
