Sunrise at Grandview Point
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
It was really hard getting out of bed as my alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. Really hard. But I could see the faint Nautical Twilight through the small window of my tent and knew I had to get up. My buddies told me to at least shake their tents and wake them so they could decide if they wanted to join and I was still pretty surprised that they were in the car with me as we drove out to Grandview Point in silence. It was about 10 miles outside the village, but the view offered up a wide area of the canyon with opportunities for views not only towards the sunrise, but also to the West for hopefully some good shadows. The light broke exactly as I had hoped.
